I feed my betta 4 betta bites in the morning nd a freeze dried bloodworm at night.(i break it in half b/c he can't fit a whole one in his mouth). once a week instead of giving him a bloodworm, i give him a cooked pea w/ the skin peeled off. He doesn't like the pea 2 much, so he only eats about 1/4-1/3 of the pea. (The pea is to prevent constipation.) I do not starve him once a week b/c when i do this he becomes extremely unactive and "depressed" like. Anyway, his belly (only the part under his gills)is a little puffy................am i overfeeding my betta?

Sounds like a good feeding schedule to me. If I were to suggest any changes at all, I would suggest you change to frozen blood worms and brine shrimp. They are a bit more nutritious and less likely to constipate the fish. You can feed other greens as well instead of the pea. Most any green leafy vegetable is good, just soften it a bit before feeding, maybe he would like something else better than the pea.

Nope that is great, YOU could cut the bloodworms to every other night though but other then that that is not overfeeding!!!

as for the belly I would not be two worried right now. If it gets bigger then you might want to look in to it. or if it dont go down you might want to get to the bottom of it.

if you do think you are over feeding just fast him for 2 - 3 days and see if that helps the puffy belly.

That should be a fine feeding schedule. I don't know if I'd give a bloodworm every night, maybe more as an occasional treat. I give my betta 4-6 bites a day and the occasional bloodworm. He also snacks on my cories algae wafer.

You're feeding him too many different things and you're obviously upsetting his digestive system. Cut it out! Give him one bite in the morning and wait a few days to start him up on the worms again.. Hope you have a good filter system.
Actually, I'm inclined to think you shouldn't feed him at all for a couple of days and then do the above.
