My order# XXX; I placed an order before this one asking for 2 LARGE cups of ice. I spent approximately $16 on this order which is less than my usual order because of coupons. When I arrived to the 2nd window to get my food I was given 2 SMALL cups of ice. When i asked where the 2 LARGE cups of ice were i was told i could only be given 2 SMALL cups of ice. I said that i was willing to pay; the cashier told me it would be $1.69 & said thats what the mgr said-the mgr on duty confirmed this as correct. This is crazy & i thought you should know that I am not going to this place anymore. After placing a large or small order-common sense should have kicked in & they should have realized that was beyond ridicoulous, in fact no other restaurant in the area has charged that much for a cup of ice, including thier other places. I also dont think there is any logic to giving 2 small cups of ice vs. one large cup.
Do you think there was a better way for this to be handled-what would you have done?

Question continued...This allows me to make my own informed choice. If you think that charging for a cup of ice is a good business policy then you should establish a reasonable price that covers the actual cost of the cup to the owner/franchisee not a 500% mark up. In short this is bad business and I'M NOT LOVIN IT!
Ironically I have gotten large cups of ice from other McDonalds in metro Detroit, none of them charged such an excessive price. Apparently there is no standard in place like some other restaurants have & I'll have to seriously consider whether or not this is something I want to have to think about when i visit McDonalds-would you think it was worth the trouble?
Side note-My diabetic mom was w/me & because my father is gone she gets honored on fathers day. She doesnt drink pop & ice would have made her special beverage cold!

Clueless i am over 21 and the mgr saw me w/young children in the car.
NOTE-I didn't mean to include the name of the business but this was a real message that i sent to them.
I will let you all know what their response is. If you want to know star this question so you can come back to it.

NOTE TO CHOCA-I was willing to pay for the ice but the same cost of the beverage is still ridicoulous.

to sf-U gotta be kidding me! To ask for something and not get it is the epitome of bad service. There were many options here and the good choice was not taken. It is a shame that people are so used to bad service that they dont recognize it. I have a great life and that is so not relevant to the question, one might ask why you even bothered to answer or if it was worth the two points to you. Can you see how petty that can get. I didnt make this personal-it's a business question. it basically comes down to what happens when your expectation as a customer is not met and what you chose to do. i am going to wait and see how they respond. who knows maybe someone who feels the way you do will respond.
