Bluemusic, before I got into rock, I LOVED classical (and still do, but less as I had) and Stravinsky was my favorite. The Rite of Spring still sends a tingle down my spine.

Growing up, my family didn't watch TV or movies together. We didn't play board games (well, we played Monopoly sometimes) or anything like that. We listened to music...CONSTANTLY. Mostly rock but folk, country and blues as well. By the time I was 8, I could name you every Pink Floyd song ever recorded, the year it was recorded and the album it appeared on (their music videos use to scare the hell out of me when I was little). Same way with many other artists (The Who, Neil Young, Waylon Jennings, The Doors...) as well. My dad use to quiz me on them. At that age, though, I found it annoying...I just wanted to watch cartoons. I didn't want to learn the guitar, the harmonica or go to Bob Dylan concerts. Now, though, I'm very thankful that I did.

I'm 18 and in LOVE with music of all kinds. My dad sort of opened the door for me. Instead of being stuck following the crowd and listening to “music” such as Rhianna and the Black Eyed Peas (music with no real meaning), I have Tom Waits, Brian Eno and Lou Reed in my CD player.

Edit: I think I've answered a question of yours before. About Pink Floyd's Live At Pompeii? Yeah, I accidentally deleted that one though....lol

I grew up on the pop/rock music of the 70's and 80's then I started becoming interested in classical. Listened to a lot of classical (mosart is totally overrated if you like prog rock try listening to stravinsky's firebird suite or his rite of spring) Then became really interested in the beatles and classic rock. Then being a lover of classical music I went to prog rock the music most similar to classical music.

well I was born in 1952, so I got to hear 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's to now. The best of all music, I had pop, rock, big bands swing, and country and blues and R&B and jazz. Today, I check out some of the current music, but don't care for the majority of it, so I still jam on my oldies.

not possibly. on an identical time as i'm going to constantly have a delicate spot in my coronary heart for the song that created my soundtrack in my formative years, i could might desire to declare that I hear to a lot greater cutting-side song than I do previous stuff. I easily have observed, even with the undeniable fact that, that the older i'm getting, the greater mellow the song is. My favorites are some incredibly loud bands... yet i'm looking that I hear to them much less and much less as time is going on. Very slowly, i'm attending to the element the place i might desire to be interior the temper to hearken to specific issues--the place while i replaced into youthful, quickly not basic and loud have been the three key standards if it replaced into going to be performed everywhere close to me. My bones, they're an'achin'! the the remainder of my answer has already been given very wisely via Linz, so quite than rehash it, i'm purely going to declare: "And what she reported."
