Why do people get so upset when people do not think like them? Shouldn't there always be 'the other side'?

I only get upset when people don't think at all and just parrot their party line with insults, talking points and tired, worn out polemics. From the left or the right.

Conservatives and Liberals are exact opposites.

Coming from a conservative stand point, I think that liberals tend to favor the bad people instead of good people. Liberals want welfare that takes tax money out of hard working people into homeless druggies and people who cheats the system to get money (practically everyone around my neighborhood). That right there would be on #1 in the "what pisses me off so much" list. Then they take advantage of the media. Now they are cutting funds from the troops and using the media to blame the Republicans.

People like their version of reality and sometimes can't accept another point of view. It's naivity. There should always be 3 sides to something.

Yes there should be the other side. Even if the other side believes in crazy conspiracy theories like Bush being behind 9/11

Well... yes... but that doesn't mean that the "other side" is worthy of any kudos.... Stalinist have opinions.... Nazis have opinions.... terrorist have opinions... do you see where I'm going with this?
