A couple of days ago, i tried to pierce my own lip. To sterilize it, i burnt the needle with the match and then soaked it in alchohol while i numbed my lip. Then, once i stuck the needle through my lip, and attempted to put the jewlery in, i noticed a black spot from where i had stuck the needle in (the jewelry was not out the other side yet, so i knew it wasn't the jewelry). I'm thinking that the black spot might be from like soot/ashes or something from the burnt needle, but i am not sure. and now it is kind of concerning me (i do not have the piercing in either, i never finished putting it in after i noticed the spot.) The spot is still there a couple days later.

Does anyone know what this could be from?

Thanks.

There is also a little bump that i can feel with my teeth on the inside of my lip, what might this be from?

Thanks.

yeah it sounds to me like you gave yourself a little tatoo. In prisons they use ash to give themselves tattoos...they scrap it right in. its possible some stayed on the pin and went into your skin. dont attempt anymore home piercings.....you could really mangle your body.

i'll bet its an infection. even tho you tried to sterilize things, it's not perfect. so 1) get it healed up, see a doc if necessary and 2) if you still want your lip pierced, get a professional!
good luck

Piercing your own lip may not have been a great idea. Go get it cheaked out by a profesional.

It may be a blood blister. If its very sore to the touch, it may be infection. I think its a blood blister and it will go away in a couple more days.

There is a great big reason why there are professionals. You should go see a real doctor for advise on this one.

It could be getting infected. Go see your doctor and don't try to pierce yourself again!

If it doesnt wash off, I think it is a infection and you should have that taken care of quickly.
