ok, well, you get a sim card when you subscribe to a carrier - a cellular network provider that is. this allows you to transfer your stuff (including your service) from one phone to another. also, sim cards are global, and are the same everywhere. they look like a small rectangle with a corner taken off, and have copper leads on the back in the shape of a circle. hope this helps. also, they are ALMOST ALWAYS located in the back of the phone. take off the battery cover, take out the battery (this will force shut down your phone. its reccommended you shut off your phone before hand) and your sim card (cingular ones are orange) should be back there. if you have an empty space, you need a wireless provider.

Sprint network uses CDMA technology so all of Sprint phones does not use any sim card. Only GSM technology like Cingular, T-Mobile and Nextel require sim cards on all their phones.
