You don't. You stay out of it. I'm assuming you're a kid, and you need to let your parents work out their lives their own way. They are always going to be your parents, whether they stay married or not. You need to not get in the middle of it, by your doing or theirs.

There really isn't much you can do. You can pray. But if your dad has a soft heart and hes willing to talk about what went wrong with someone he can trust, theres always hope. Give him your love and understanding, he really needs that from you right now. Trust me. Been there. Just be careful not to upset him. Hes already got enough on his plate. I don't know how old you are or how close you are to your dad but right now that doesn't matter, tell him you care and you love him and you'll be there for him no matter what. Then give him a big hug. It takes a real man to show his feelings. Step up! Good Luck!!

You can't. If you love him and your mom, you'll want them to be happy and being together to please you will only make you happy.
I'm sure that if your parents love you, they haven't given you all the details about why your dad wants a divorce. That's a good thing, cause it's their relationship that is coming to an end, not yours with each of them. I know it's hard, but it's something you'll have to figure out how to deal with.
Your dad isn't doing this to hurt you. He loves you.

You really can't and why would you want to if he isn't happy in his relationship? I don't mean to sound rude. My parents are divorced and both are remarried to the love of their lives. I am a divorced person and it is much better to leave a relationship than to stay for the kids.

Try...."Please?" - Hey, I hate divorce because it hurts everyone. But....It might mean he's on the verge of a mental breakdown and can't deal with it anymore, and the only solution he can see. Offer others! There HAS TO BE A REASON!

the only thing you can do is ask them to sincerely try counseling first -
Best wishes -
If they do get divorced, see if there is a support group at your school for kids of divorce.

I don't know. You didn't give us the whole spill. Why should he stay? Would he suffer if he stay? Would he be making a sacrifice if he stays? What will he be giving up if he leaves?
Why shouldn't he leave?
Why wouldn't YOU want him to get a divorce? Are you being selfish?

If a man is happy eles where let him follow his happiness...This will be a lonely life for him otherwise...He can love you ...have you in his life but be w/ his special other half too... If you love your dad you will see his happiness is shared when he finds his dream. Let him and encourage him to follow HIS path to happiness. The smiles he will have and the joy in his heart will be well worth the pain of learning to NOT be selfish..and keeping him where he does not want to be.......
