I have to read this book this summer for my English class in the fall and I wasn't sure how it was going to be. I know the story and I'm going to buy it soon, but I just want a heads up to what it's going to be like.

I love Thomas Hardy, he is one of my favorite authors, but I find that his books can be very difficult to get into. It usually takes me a little time to adjust to his language and writing style but once I do I am always so glad I did. So if you find yourself wondering why you are reading this at the beginning, STICK WITH IT!!!! His books are extremely worthwhile.

Read it a long time ago and think it was one of Hardy's best pieces. I still recall this man who sold his wife and the daughter, Elizabeth Jane, a tragic tale indeed. I'd recommend it readily.
