Why are Christians so opposed to magic?

Don't know about the Christians ........... but I would be drinking alot of wine !!!!!!!!!

they are so opposed to magic because of the craft (wiccan religion), you see, it was frequently been said that the god of the old relgigion was a horned god (wiccan god of hunting) so apparently was the christians devil, and obviously then, reasoned the church, the pagans/wiccans were devil worshipers!! this type of reasoning is used by the church today. Missionaries were particulary prone to label all primitive tribes upon whom they stumbled as devil-worshipers, just becuase the tribe worshipped a god or gods other than the chirstain one. It would not matter that the peopl were good happy, often morally and etithically better living then the vast majority of christians...tey had to be converted.
ex. and old ritual act for fertility was for the villagers to go to the feilds and the light of the full moon and to dance around the field astride ptichforks, poles and broomsticks, riding them like hobby-horses. they would leap high in the air as they danced to show the crops how high to grow and harmless enough form of sympathetic magick. yet the church claimed not only that they actually flew through the air on there poles...surely the work of the devil. this is also how the whole label of the "witch riding on a broom stick" became about.

Jesus performed miracles! Magic is something that God says is evil! If God says it is evil then you are not supposed to do it!
