So, I just turned eighteen and am looking for reads that are more mature than my old Meg Cabot, Kevin Brooks and Eion Colfer books, but not as intensely serious as adult books. Anyway, I'm looking for either (A) sort of tansition books from the young adult genre to the adult genre or (B) youth adult books for more mature readers. Any sugesstions? Any idea is appriciated.

You may have read some of Madeleine L engles' children's books. She also writes for young adults.

Terry Brooks, The Sword of Shannara Trilogy, loved this series. In some ways these books are better than The Lord of the Rings.

You might also try books by Fannie Flagg. My favorite was Standing in a Rainbow

My advice: Make friends with your local librarian; she/he will have lots of helpful advice.
