A lot of rap songs lyrics pertain to growing up in the hood and how society had failed them yet they rarely (if at all) spend any of the money these songs generate to help those living under those conditions by rebuilding and cleaning it up.some of the house parties these rap artists throw are more costly to throw than to build a community center or beautify a park or fix a playground up.Are rappers glorifying the bad living conditions or just blaming society for it's problems?

A lot of Artists do give to their communities, a lot, but the media doesn't make a big deal about it because things that are positive don't make the news, people love to hear the negative things about Hip Hop and it's artists.

That is a really good question. A lot of them would rather spend ther money on their cars and their bling. Some do have charities and give back to the community but it is usually the ones that had to struggle the most that come from small areas and the fact that you only here about the bad stuff that they do because that is more interesting to the media than charity work. For example, when Hurricane Katrina hit, a rapper David Banner, went to his home state of Mississippi and actually gave the clothes off of his back, Nelly does a lot of charity work for bone marrow donations, Master P gives back to Louisiana all the time.Yes it is the few and far between but those who have the most should definitely dig into their pockets and give back.

The same reason the glorify being a thug instead of trying to set good examples for kids growing up in the same bad situations.

Most of them are making it up and have never actually been to the communities they're singing about (that's not always the case).

50 Cent's story was touching, but if he tells me how many times he got shot one more time, he's gunna get another..
