There so many memories. He taught me a lot.
I guess one would be when I was about 16. I was out of school for the summer. We went fishing every Saturday morning, and I mean early morning. He wake me up like 4 a.m. and we eat breakfast and be at our fishing hole before daylight. Heck, we always had our limit by 9 a.m. and we float around in the boat and drink cokes and eat sandwiches until it start to get hot. Then we go home.
At the time I thought; "Four in the morning OMG"! But, now I look back and am glad we did it.

my Dad died 17yrs ago and I always remember him on Fathers Day, his birthday and the anniversary of his death.
I will cherish for ever the words he said to me not long before he died. "You are doing a good job with bring up your kids" I have an ADHD boy, now a young man, and at the time I was having a dreadful time in coping with his problems.
Also I remember his quote " Spring always follows Winter"
I often wish he could be here now to see how well his grandchildren have come along in their lives. Deep down I know he knows already as he's watching over us.

Just hearing his voice... I miss him so much! Memorial Day this year made a year that he has been gone. Today is a very sad day for me and I know that he is in a better place but still I can't help but wish he was still here with me. Thank you so much for posting this... it was very thoughtful.

Yes all dads gone are in a better place.
My most cherished memory is the day when my Abba told me that now on we are equals.

Finding time for me every weekend to go fishing or throw a baseball at the park. He worked two jobs to support the family and was overworked. He passed away at age 35 from a heart attack. I was 10yrs old at the time. I'm 40 now, and can remember the things he shared with me like it was yesterday. I celebrate life with my kids every day not knowing when I'll have to say goodbye to them. I thank God for the times he gave me with my father.
