I have $200 to spend and don't have any video games and don't want any. Any suggestions?

Personally, I would use that amount of money to get ahead on some bills. You could throw it into a loan or a credit card, or make an extra car payment or pay ahead on your insurance premium. You could sprinkle it around to your utilities and be ahead a little bit, no telling when that would come in handy to have a credit on your next bills. If you keep paying a regular amount on your utilities, then you will be ahead when you meet a scrape.

You could make a splurge/investment like repainting a room, making a small furniture purchase, or updating the hardware on your kitchen cabinets, or buying new plumbing fixtures in a bathroom, or a small garden project that will add value to your property.

You could do something fun like a nice night out in town, or a low-end weekend getaway out of town.

You could buy a great piece of clothing that will last a long time like a cashmere sweater, a leather jacket, or a wool blazer.

You could also throw a small party.

Put it in a high interest yielding account!

Some on-line savings account have higher interest rate and no bank fees or charges. AND you can do it all on line. Just fill out their forms, send it in. Voila.

Start up a direct debit from your everyday account so $X.00 will automatically be transferred into this savings account.

I know this suggestion is boring. But you'll probably thank me later when you take pride in seeing your bank balance grow over time. If you don't need to buy anything, then save your $$!!! Perhaps you can travel overseas with that money someday or do other cooler stuff. Imagine!

And no, I don't work for any financial institutions.

SAVE IT! And you might want to consider this: (Put it in your wallet because when there's a big earthquake and everything falls apart, your whole life will depend on your wallet and what lies within.. which is the extremely valuable $200 that I told you to save! You'll thank me someday [=)

Or.. you can just donate to charity if you're rich already.

How about saving it until you find something you really do want instead of blowing it just for the sake of blowing it?

Put it in the Bank, until you actually need to spend it. Don't buy something you don't need. You'll regret it later.

Put it in savings and make yourself even more money, at least until you find something that you want.
