Not true. Some of the matches are not fixed. Players who perform well in these matches get the "prize" from Cricket Boards & promoters and advertisers. And, their "price" for the fixed matches is fixed based on the same performance. It is a different story that they are fixed in fixed matches to such an extend, they can not move their feet / ball / legs.
