Yes, it's normal. It's the ligaments in your abdomen stretching. I did have this too.

Okay first off, nobody here is a doctor. This is only sharing other people experience so never ever take it as your "final answer" always talk to your doctor about anything that conserns you no matter how small or silly it may seem. It is there job to answer and if they make you feel silly or like you are asking stupid questions get a new doctor.
Your uterus is held in place by two ligaments (yep just two)
now when your not pregnant that is okay, but as your uterus starts to grow, and get heavier, it stretches those ligaments and causes pain. It sometimes can be relieved by changing positions becaues this can change the way the weight is being supported.
A warm (not hot) bath can sometimes help to.
I would recomend that you go to www.babyfit.com
They have message boards there with lots of pregnant women. You can choose the board acording to your due date so you can talk to other women about as far along as you.
you will be amazed some of the questions that can get answered when you put 100 pregnant women together.
I hope this helps,
Congrats on the baby by the way.

Hi, I have just had a baby 5 weeks ago and also have a 4 year old. I felt a similar sort of pain with my 2nd ( albeit later on when baby started pressing on nerve endings...) but I would always advise to go and see your GP / Midwife if you have any concerns as it's worth it just to put your mind at rest, worrying about things can sometimed make the pains/niggles seem more poignant as it's the unknown..
P.S good luck with everything, it's the best thing ever..

Every Pregnancy is different I have had 4 kids and everyone have been so different. I have 2 girls and 2 boys they said that boys are worse of course everyone was bad.
If you are having wierd feeling I would go see a doctor just to make sure everything is ok if you can catch a bad thing now its so worth it than losing this baby.
Good Luck-Chattyokie

I've had 3 and I hated that feeling. Although that feeling came when the baby was ready to come out because of the head getting into place. How long has this been happening? Lotsa ?'s to ask. Go to the doctor to be safe. Congratulations!

I am pregnant now, I am 33 weeks and I did feel like that with this pregnancy. I think it is that you are feeling the changes going on. You are older this time around and with age comes new aches and pains you did not have before.

Yup- it is your ligaments stretching to make your body ready for baby...mild to med cramping is normal across the middle of your uterine area...any sharp pains or sharp pains on only one side are a cause for concern and should be checked by your doctor. Good luck with your pregnancy and enjoy the ride!

i just had a little boy 3 months ago, and i have two girls as well. everything about this pregnancy was totally different from the other two. i felt the same things going on as you did with my son, whereas with the girls i did not. the doctor told me its normal to feel that way, just your body getting itself ready for the task at hand. talk to your doc about it, but don't worry too much about it,most likely he will say the same.

Believe me, each pregnancy is SOOO different!! what you describe sounds like ligaments stretching you will feel them differently this time because youve already had one, and your stomach muscles are a bit looser than last time (offten why women show earlier etc)
goodluck and congratulations, I hope the pregnancy goes smoothly!

I had that.. it's just your ligaments that support the uterus beginning to stretch. And it will probably continue for a while...I'm 6 months and I still get them sometimes. Unless the pain is frequent and/or accompanied by bleeding, there's no need to worry at all!
