for about a month now...not every night...but almost every other night....as i'm dosing off, i get a sudden loss of breath...one night i actually woke up choking...it almost feels like the bottom of my throat is would be collapsing...scary feeling...does anyone have ann idea of what this could be?
i am an asthma patient, also have anxiety and mild regurgitation in my heart...i know if i go to the doctor they will just say ooo its your anxiety but i've never felt this before

sounds like sleep apnea and it can be serious. talk to youir doc about it. he may send you for tests such as an eeg or he may offer a sleep clinic or a moniter to wear while you sleep in order to diagnose it.

There is a condition known as "sleep apnea" where the person stops breathing in their sleep, waking themselves up.

It could be sleep apnea which can be very serious if left untreated. See your doctor and ask to have a sleep study done.

It might be serious. You might have to stay at the hospital for a while.
