Race/sex = unimportant. Qualifications = necessary. I actually think Colin Powell would have made an awesome Presidential candidate, but he decided not to run and that's his business so oh well.

I just found an interesting page on demographics. Might check it out. Perhaps the reason all the Presidents thus far have been white males is that 75% of the country's population is white. According to the laws of probability, it really isn't that shocking that the 43 people selected as President from throughout America's history have happened to be white males.

But really, it doesn't matter. The President is the President and he's the one chosen as the best qualified to do the job, whether he's white, black, purple or not a he.

I sadly dont think the majority are ready. There still seems to be the theory that a woman couldnt handle the pressure and a person of color will have a ethnical axe to grind. I could care less about color/gender, I just want someone with a brain and a soul to give us our country back!

I think we are ready as long as the candidate doesn't make things racially tense because America does not need that right now. Also, I really wish any other woman besides Hilary Clinton was running...she has lied so many times while her husband was in office, and now when she is running...look at her stance on the war, first she was for it, now she is against it. Go figure. I wish Condeleezza Rice was running, I would vote for her in a heartbeat.

I don't care what color or race the person is, but I will never vote for some one that admitted he used cocaine! Do you really want some one like that with his finger on the nuclear button? Hillary's got more balls than most of the generals in Iraq right now! Especially that cherry marine Pace!

Yes! I think Barack Obama has a good chance of becoming our next president. He has a sharp intellect; he can speak without tripping over his own brain; and he has the background to become president, unlike the current "Void George" now occupying the Oval Office, who was never qualified to occupy that seat.
