You just shower. Normally, you aren't gushing gigantic amounts of blood and it's not all that messy. You may wish to dry your genitals quickly possibly with paper towels to avoid staining cloth ones, and just have fresh underwear and a clean pad ready to put on. Any flow that does come out during a shower will just be rinsed away. Good hygiene is important both to your health and your feelings of being clean and normal. Menstrual flow is not dangerous to you.

As for tampons, you don't have to use them if you don't want to, but for things like showering and swimming they really do make things easier and neater. Used properly they are also quite safe. One option is using a soft menstrual sponge during a shower or bath even if you usually use pads. But really, don't worry too much, just bathe as you usually do.

You get in the shower, once in there your flow should slow down, or stop and as soon as you are done, dry off and get your underwear on, put on your pad, and finish drying off and getting dressed. Just in case there is still some flow, use a dark towel to help prevent visible stains. That is about all you can do unless you want to try tampons. There is nothing to be scared of with them. They do not hurt if inserted properly(not hard to do) and as long as you pick the absorbency level right for you.

You just take a shower like you normally would when you don't have you period. Any blood that does come out just goes down the drain. The only problem comes when you want to dry yourself off down there as you might stain the towel - using toilet paper for drying down there, then putting your undies and a pad on really quick before drying the rest of you prevents that.

Who is telling you that you need a tampon to shower? You don't need anything in the shower because what you menstruate during that time washes down the drain.
In fact, a shower is a good time to use nothing because then you can wash everything out.

You don't use tampons when taking a shower..just swimming to protect you from bacteria entering your body, when your in any kind of water and on your period blood doesn't come down, i'm not sure why [some ppl say b/c of the pressure water gives] but it just doesn't =]

Is this a trick question? Do you shower when you're not on your period? Take notes so you can refer back and shower the same way when you are on your period.

You shower as normal.

You only need a tampon if you are doing water sports... swimming, scuba, snuba, snorkel, etc like that.

You just shower, nothing bad will happen. hah, & you won't bleed everywhere because water can stop the blood from flowing out.
