no! never use liquid! It looks hideous! You will look like the walking dead!

This question was made for me :) I used to have the exact same problem as you. I would use pencil liner on the top and bottom. What you need to do is use liquid liner on the bottom. It doesn't smudge like pencil liner does.

Some people say that liquid liner looks too harsh, and I agree. So what I do is apply a very thin line on the bottom and then I smudge it a little bit with my pinky finger.

Another thing about liquid liner is that it is hard to be precise. It takes practice, so don't give up because once you get the hang of it, you will be happy with how it looks. :)

I love liquid eyeliner!
Every time I use a pencil it smears and fades away during the day and way too hard to put on. Poking my eyebals to really get a good line is not what I bargained for. Now I only use a pencil eyeliner to add a faint color to my lips....

Love the liquid. It brings the sexy back!
I prefer the regular kind over the waterproof ones because I also care about getting it off more than I care about putting it on.

You can buy two different kinds of liquid eyeliner and mix the two colors until you get what works for you. For those women who think black is way too harsh, put some brown in it. You can also thin it out with water to make it a little bit more less stand-outish.
Love the liquid with a real brush tip and not the marker type tip. You can be more creative and light with the strokes.

If you don't want to worry about smudging and have a steady hand, go with liquid. But I found something even better because sometimes I would mess up with liquid and have to start all over again! Try this: Get a black eyeshadow (like at MAC) and then use a very thin eyeshadow brush. Dip the brush in water, wipe off excess, and then tap it in the shadow. Now, glide it where you usually put your eyeliner. It looks a lot less severe than liquid and it's easier to apply and easier to fix if you mess up. I learned that from a MAC make-up artist when she did my wedding make-up!

best thing to do with the whole smudgy problem, make sure to dust a transculenct powder or same color powder on the pencil eyeliner after you put it on. this sets the liner and it doesnt move all day. liquid eyeliner looks good but tends to peel sometimes and is not easy to put on.

if you're comfy with liquid eyeliner. then use it. I feel weird using liquid eyeliner on the bottom. if you want to. you can use pencil eyeliner and check it every few hours to make sure it's not smudging and reapply it

liquid eyeliner is only used for the top of the eyes. use at the bottom will make your eyes look harsh
