Alcohol will thin your blood (well, it will cause your blood vessels to dilate at least). Why do you want to thin your blood anyway?

There are much better ways to thin your blood than aspirin because aspirin is bad for your kidneys and can also cause internal bleeding mostly in your stomach. Never take more than one aspirin a day and half an aspirin a day is better than one a day.

Fish oil thins your blood and besides that it is very rich in omega 3.

Vitamin E also thins your blood but only if you take large doses of at least 400 IUs a day.

A lot of heart tablets and high blood pressure tablets are mainly blood thinners.

One word of caution about blood thinners and that is that too much blood thinning may or could lead to a haemorrhagic stroke if you burst a blood vessel in your brain.

If you are worried about haemorrhagic strokes one answer is to take citrus bioflavonoids because these strengthen your blood vessels thereby reducing the possibility or chances of getting a haemorrhagic stroke. Strokes resulting from blood clots are actually about ten times as common as haemorrhagic strokes and that is probably why they get about ten times as much publicity as haemorrhagic strokes.

Garlic is a natural blood thinner. It should not be taken along with pharmaceutical blood thinners because it can amplify their effect.

Because such foods contain multiple phytochemicals which act upon different cell receptors, foods like garlic can actually be very effective blood thinners on their own because the various phytochemicals "self modulate." This means it can actually be very hard to "over thin" your blood with Garlic where it's a snap with a drug like Warfarin (which is also the same compound used in rat poison).

This principal is well-documented in countries like Germany where they have advanced studies on herbal medicines but not at all in the US where the FDA says that studies are conducted on only one molecule at a time.

Lemon is very good for your blood and liver. Eat lemons or drink lemon juice, fresh squeezed. Or add lemon juice to tea or just to water, hot or cold. It will thin out your blood.

Obviously aspirin, folic acid, some foods. Talk to our doc, this is serious stuff. If you are not careful or have other stuff going on in your body, you can over due this or mess other parts of our body up, by accident.
