On May 25th I got the shot. I heard that most woman don't stop their periods until almost a year later. It's only been a couple of weeks since I got the shot and my period is late. What's the deal? PLEASE tell me this is normal! I'm freaking out over here!!!

This means you fall into the 25% grouping of women who DO have immediate cessation of menses. Just be aware that you may still have irregular spotting/bleeding.

I used the shot for 5 years, and would only get a period about every 15 months or so. I hope that you enjoy your experience with it (I did!).

totally normal. I have a period about once every 3 or 4 months. And usually the same time have my next shot. Some people don't have them at all. In college my school health center did pregnancy test every time I had the shot, because it could cause great harm to baby if you are pregnant.

I still get all my normal symptons of period every month, only worse than before. I am far more bloated, gain at least 4 pounds of water weight, and have bad back aches, but just no bleeding.

all women react differently to this shot.

you will probably NOT have it until well after you stop the shots...my gf was/is on it and was told to stop because of possible bone density loss, and she hasnt had a period, minus some spotting for a day or two max, at times, during her use of depo...
