As long as you don't leave her in it all the time it won't affect her in any way.

Walkers scare me. They're made of cheap plastic and allow a child too much freedom and mobility. I have heard of the possibility of boleggedness and it's not something I want to risk for my child.
Anyway, I did a seach for "baby walkers" and "baby walker danger" and found some good resources that nicely explain my opinions. A couple of the articles (from About and, I think, Discovery Health) reccommend the stationary play things (Exersaucer type things, I guess). However, I've also heard that they can move from the baby's moving. That also scares me.
A few months ago, my husbnad and I went to a baby safety seminar sponsored by Babee Tenda. (We ended up buying the table. Even before the guy "advertised" it, I was already looking at it with interest. I like that I can leave her in there even as a newborn, but I would not leave her too unsupervised for long; Just long enough to deal with laundry in the basement or to use the bathroom.) He pointed much of this stuff out. In the packe of information we received was a statement that that The American academy of Pediactrics, The American Medical Association, The consumer Fedeation of America, The Consumers Union, and others files a suit in August 1992 to ban baby walkers in the United States. If there are problems with them, such as bowleggedness, poor muscle development, and slowing down child's walking abilty (my thinking is, "Why would s/he want to learn to walk, when she has something that is essentially doing it for him/her?"), I don't want to risk it.
This is just my opinion and what I think is best for my baby.
I've included the link for a page on baby walkers from the American Academy of Pediatrics
I hope I've been of some help and that I didn't come across as preachy.

Can the wheels lock....or can you lock it somehow so that the walker doesnt move? Because that will be the best thing for her at the moment. She will be fine, she will be able to sit up and play with the toys....i would suggest not leave her in their for hours etc but just while your hanging around her she will love it....she will feel independant.....

I put my 3 month old in an excersaucer and he did fine. I just put a hand towel in the front of him to help support him. He did just fine. Give it a try and if he does good, then do it.

If she isn't strong enough to sit up on her own, she'll just tilt foward or back a lot.
