Im torn on this one...

On the one hand I think he should be left to die asap - I detest the thought that my taxes are used to keep the likes of him alive in prison (especially when I believe he should've been sentenced to death over 40 years ago) - the British government have spent a lot of money keeping this scum alive - money that could've been used to re-vamp hospitals & schools.

On the other hand I dont think we should pander to the wishes of a convicted child killer & let them have what they want - he should suffer for what he's done.

I think he has been fed through a tube for years. I really don't know why they persist in this because the world would be a better place without the likes of Ian Brady. Let him join Myra Hindley.

There is this guy that literaly slaughtered this lady at her B &B last year as well as her daughter. Before that he had done it to a man and I guess it was pretty gruesome to see. He went on a hunger strike recently and was released from prison to a pyschiatric unit becaues they considered him a suicide risk. If a woman has choice what to do with her body when she is pregnant why cant someone choose what they want to do with their body by starving themselves? I dont get it at all. Not that I think suicide should go unrecognized. Just strange to me how these criminals and this guy was a brutal one. He had no motive just decided to do it, gets such special attention. There were even photos of him on his way to the psych unit smiling.

Considering how much it costs us to keep these people in jail they should be allowed to make themselves die - its more economical in the long run.

Stuff human rights. If a person decides to do something then let them do it. People in Nursing homes don't have the luxery of being covered by the Human Rights Act. Many of them starve to death and not through choice, becuase no one will give them the time it takes to assist them fully with a meal.

It is tragic but some people well meaning but cruel believe that they know God's will. We even have a president that tried to make it a constitutional amendment. He has in the past gone against parents will and ordered feeding tubes replaced. What do you expect from a seemly educated man who believes that the world was actually created in six days regardless of the overwhelming that it did not happen that way. And religious people think that they are right and it gives them the right to dictate people's personal lives.
But force feeding a person to keep them alive is inhuman. Of course christians have never been all that compasionate.

I think he should be allowed to die now. He has admitted guilt, has never applied for parole and is past caring whether he lives or dies now. He is only on hunger strike to prove a point. Hunger striking is actually an horrific way to die and an appropriate way for a child killer to go. I'd be more upset if he was like Myra Hindley (fat, happy and smoking 80 fags a day) when she died!!

Are we talking about Ian Brady (who I thought was already dead) or Ian Huntley? If Huntley, he could do with losing some weight!

I cant agree with lonely traveller answer, he didn't give the kids he murdered freedom of choice. Let him die in fact help him, hang him while he's still conscious.

hi babysham,
if you mean huntly, then let him die,or better still, kill him
if you mean brady, then the same applies.
best thing we could do is clear the prisons of these people, kill them all and stop wasting tax payers money.

Yes.

Death is an easy way out compared to a life behind bars. He should be forced to watch his life pass him by behind bars; that was his punishment, not death.
