i am trying to burn a "Magic the Gathering" logo on a box i bought and it has the letters that im going to wood burn the outline of out and the border for the background. the whole background will be burnt but how do i do this without have imprints of the head in the wood? can i sand it down a little or is there some technique to make it nice and even? any websites or books would be helpful too. thanks

You could use a torch that's made for scorching weeds in the garden, or you could heat up a barbeque grill, put a cookie sheet on top until it's hot, then and place the wood on the cookie sheet for a few seconds. You could make stencils out of silicone or something so the letters will not be burned.

Obviously if it was easy, eberyone would have one!

Are you sure it's ok to use their logo?

dont worry about even, its a hand craft , not a machine printed thing, woodburning is never even, get the largest tip you can find and simply move it slowly over the surface with one pressure, and do the best you can, but no one is perfect.
