regerugged (below) My happiness is contained within and does not rely on a neo-con dictatorship to provide it.
ALSO I do leave the country quite often. Neo-cons are the ones who need to get out more often.

mfitz67 (below) Afghanistan was in retaliation for 9/11. Please do not rewrite history. Even now Bush cut and ran from there giving the Taliban a second wind.
Iraq was a lie-based invasion which had nothing to do, supposedly, with nation building. Yet another historical rewrite.

Yes.
Manifest destiny was supposed to only account for the North American continent.
Somebody tell Bushy that it didn't encompass the entire globe.

I can understand partially the need to democratize other nations, but I will NEVER understand the things that Bush has proposed, fulfilled, and continues to push down OUR throats! He is a disgrace to this country that I dearly love, and it will take decades to undo the f*** ups he has done in such a short period of time. Im still amazed at the fact that they were talking impeachment of Clinton for something every male species on the planet does, but its never even been thought of for Bush, who has every reason to be!

Both of your questions are wrong in their premises. In the US we have representative republic. We have not tried to persuade any other country to adopt our form of government. Both Afghanistan and Iraq have adopted a parliamentary style of government. The US gave the people of those two countries the opportunity to choose. That was a good thing.
If you are not happy here, have you ever thought of moving to another country?

If they'll leave us the hell alone, they can rot in their dictatorships. If they're a threat, no.
You don't deserve any of the protection you get from being in the US.
::::Good for you. Doesn't give you a free pass. You wouldn't be free in your cushy little life had we not gotten involved in other countries to secure ourselves. We're not running a charity group here.

Actually we haven't.... the government form in Iraq is actually much closer to the British system. But I see nothing wrong with wanting all people to experience the Liberty that we enjoy. Unless you advocate totalitarian rule everywhere... including here... then the Left could impose their agenda for "the greater good of all".... No thank you!

I think that America should be there if the people of a country reach out and say we need help reforming our government. But, if there are no complaints from the people why bother.

I generally find its best to lead by example. Our system of government doesn't work for everyone. At some point they will realize this.
