Its a fine name if you are either very Greek or very Russian. I wouldn't reccommend it for an Irish boy or a Hispanic boy.
The Dmitris I know from our local Greek community all spell it Demitri, and some use the nickname Didi. I've always thought it was cute. You could also use Demi.
Demitri is the Greek version of James, that I do know, so if you already have a son named James don't use it.

Demitri, Dimitri, Demitry, etc. are Greek in origin--if that matters to you. I see that you spell it with no vowel between the D and the m... It's a good name :)

Yeah, but i do prefer it with an "I" spelled Dimitri. A girl variation is Dimity, which i think is cute, also.
