There is really no physical difference between Yugioh and Yugioh GX cards. They are basically just considered Yugioh. The GX simply refers to a "time frame." The GX cards were printed after the start of the Yugioh GX TV series.
I hope this helps.

there the same yugioh except yugioh 5ds is the updated version of the show and the cards. yugioh 5ds have the new card type called synchros that require a tuner monster and a non-tuner monster(which is about every monster from the old series). synchros are white background card that keep in the extra deck(which used to be called the fusion deck) and you can only have 15 cards in the extra deck. synchros are over powered monsters but are hard to get out into the field. the reason is that the synchro materials must equal the same number of stars combined as for the synchro monster your synchroing and the material must meet the synchro material requirement. the show is called 5ds because of the plot. 5ds stands for "5 dragons" which are the signer dragons. the signer dragons are protectors of the living and protects the world from evil. a signer is a chosen person that the dragon has chosen as their guardian

There are no Yu-Gi-Oh! GX cards. All legal cards are printed for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. There might be some GX cards but those aren't the same as the TCG cards.
