I accidentally forgot to endorse a check before i deposited it in an atm. Will it still go through or will they just mail it back to me?

Depends on the teller processing the deposit. If they run it thru, no one will ever notice since human hands will never touch it again. If they reject it, they'll call you or they will return the check. Hopefully, the teller will call before you if you are a customer.

If you put "For Dep Only" on it along with the account number it was intended to go in, it should go through. Otherwise, you need to contact the bank and explain what you did. If they can't locate the check, it was probably returned to the issuer.

The bank usually returns it to you. If it's a small bank and you made the deposit at your home branch, they may even call you and ask you to visit the branch and sign it.
