I think it is a fine, patriotic American organization.

The Halliburton Foundation generously contributes funds to U.S. non-profit organizations which include education, health, social service, welfare, medical research and youth programs. Also included are cultural and community organizations such as performing arts groups, zoos, public television, museums, and wildlife and environmental conservation.

I was really up on them a few years ago, made a pretty fair return on my investment but got rid of everything, probably four years ago. They have not been doing that great since then as compared to other opportunities.

I did not know about the philanthropic efforts, that is quite impressive.

I would feel better about Haliburton if they did perform their job. One of the issues in Iraq is that there are fewer substructure than there were before the war. We have spent billions to get electric back running, buildings built, oil production back up to prewar levels. Instead we have given a lot of money to Haliburton so they could more their offices to Dubaii and sell the part of of the company that dealt with most of the war. It makes it a lot harder to prosecute.

The awarding of no bid contracts to them is disturbing as is the multi-million dollars the Vice President has made in deferred stock payments and retirement salary. Their overbilling of the government for work done in Iraq is another problem.

Techincally, they are among the best companies in the world in doing the type of work they do.

I don't think they are particularly more patriotic than many other US companies. Or less patriotic. They are a business and the business of business is to make money which they do very well.

I love halliburton and KBR

They provided me and my bros with free laundry service, good food, fillipino women, etc. while we were in Iraq.

What's not to love about that?
