change the tranny fluid and filter and then add a bottle of Lucas transmission fix to the tranny, it will free up any sticky valves in it and might save your tranny, I have used it twice in slipping tranny's and it has worked both times and that was 3yrs. ago and still driving both vehicles.

the air conditioner and the transmission don't have a lot in common as far as that part of it goes, the transmission slipping will be a totally different problem with it,d take it to a good transmission shop to get it checked out really good, that's the only way you,ll find out for sure what it is,good luck with it,hope this helps..

Best to have a Saturn service tech check it out, could be an electronic solenoid gone bad. The AC puts a drag on the engine when engaged, hence the worse gas mileage. Also the transmission is pressure sensitive, so the drag could send a signal to it to adjust. Repair is certainly an option, and far less expensive than replacement.

The same thing just happened to me. I bought a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am SE, had it for a month and the transmission burnt up in it. I would suggest replacing the tranny. It would be the best to your benefit. There really isn't any other way around it then to replace/rebuild. I wish you luck! Best wishes!!!

If it is only when turning on the A/C I would not worry about it, sounds more like instead of a transmission skip more of a power loss for that instant. My guess a small 4 cylinder right? If so do not worry about it
