Good name. Flows together. I'm assuming that Smith is your family name, but it goes together well. Sounds like a good strong name. He'll probably be called Ben...still a strong name.

It's ok. I'm guessing the Smith is yours or a family members maiden name which makes it meaningful. Just remember his initials will spell B.S. :)

Benjamin is long and formal.
Benji only works for small boys and dogs.
Then he'll be a Ben. . . which always makes me think "has been".
