Why do christians constantly spread god? I am not a christian but I do not constantly talk about what I believe in. Every single question is anwsered with something to do with god. Why do you feel that everyone must be a christian? People have the right to believe in what they want to without being persuaded to be a christian. You can believe in what you want, but why do you try to shove it down everyone's throats? I mean missionaries!!! You go to other countries and try to make them christian. Please explain to me why you do this so I can stop being so frustrated and understand.

I relate to your frustration and feeling like people are trying to brainwash you. It is everywhere, constantly. There is no respect for anyone else.
They do this because the founders of the Christian Church made this an obligation. (it doesn't hurt to be the biggest and richest church by getting more and more followers, does it?). Christians believe that they are "saving" others because they do not understand Jesus. Jesus did not want to be worshipped. He was Jewish and that would be a sin for a Jew. Later followers, so stunned by his horrible death, made him an object of worship. When he was alive, he was a teacher. When he said "I am the way" and "no one comes to the father but through me" he was saying, follow me. I have found a path to rightousness, follow it. That is what he meant. There is no such thing as going to heaven and no such thing as going to hell and this is not in the old testament, which Jesus followed. He sent his disciples out who he had specially trained to spread his teachings. He did not empower anyone else to do it. Besides religion, people like everyone to be on the same page with them. People like everyone to be part of their group. That makes the world feel safe and predictable. So some people try to make evenyone believe as they do. The christians who are so insistant and so disrepectful feel justified because they do not respect other beliefs but believe them all to be wrong and leading to sin and hell. Therefore they can do what they like. In the past, they tortured, burnt, hung, cut parts off of, drove out, enslaved and everything else imaginable to non-christians or even other christians who differed a little. Wars were fought because some people disagreed. If a person followed Jesus exactly, without interpreting and without listening to the later founders of the "church" they would be a lot like Jesus, which would be a wonderful thing to behold and they would probably be fairly good Jews too. Unfortunately this is not entirely possible because the bible, especially the new testament, is inaccurate and biased, because it was written decades after Jesus lived, by who knows who, and had an agenda of creating a "church" or belief system. The bible was translated from Aramaic to latin or sometimes to greek and then to middle English and then to modern English. Each translation loses or misinterprets something. Believing that you have the right way.....the ONLY right way and are part of a special group makes people feel special and important. For avery very long time, Chistians have felt threatened by other religions, especially Judaism which gave "birth" to them and therefore could easily point out their flaws. So they made themselves "special", since only they would be "saved" or protected by Jesus. Since only they, knew what was right and true. The church tried everythnig in it's power to crush other religions in the past and destroyed or confiscated a great deal of ancient knowledge because maybe, just maybe, it would prevent someone from being Christian. They destroyed buildings and books. But they were still infected because Easter is today, more about pagan rites than it is about Jesus's ressurrection and Christimass also is more about paganism than Christ. Many subjugated peoples became christian to save their lives but secretly held on to their own beliefs. So if you look at the history of death, torture, destuction and destruction of knowledge, it makes the insistent disrespecful lecturing today, that much more grievious because it is akin to the crimes of the past. Given the history of the Church, and the teachings of Christ, Christians today should be meek and humble and respect everyone. If they want followers, let them get followers by their example, not by their wagging tongues.

God is what I believe in so naturally I'm going to mention Him. I don't cram anything down anyones throats and I wished non believers would stop generalizing. You dont know every Christian, ok? Or do you? DO you know every single Christian on the planet? Youre a sh*t stirrer - thats it. "Why do christians constantly spread god - I am not a christian". Yeah - I knew that after your first line. "Why do you shove it down everyones throats - help me understand". Your out to cause trouble and nothing more. You dont want to understand anything - you just want to vent. You DO need God so maybe thats why everyones on your back about it. I could care less what you think what you do or how you live. So why are you and everyone else like you constantly slamming what *I* believe in all the time? Get a life.

Well, if someone is a Christian, that is what they were instructed to do by Jesus. It was the last thing Jesus said to his followers before He ascended into heaven. If they are a Christian, they believe the Bible, and that's what the Bible says to do. If they don't do that, they are not being very effective Christians. It is an evangelical religion, which means it was meant to be spread. Never in a pushy or hateful manner, but one of the core parts of Christianity is to share with others. I tried to explain that as simply as I could.

Christians believe the Bible.

The Bible says Jesus told believers to spread the gospel.

They spread God because that's what their religion says to do.

Because they have the love of God in their heart and they are only concerned for your soul. I understand there are over zealous Christians out there who do tend to " shove it down your throat" which does more harm than good usually and unfortunately by the time they realize that they have already sent many running from the very one they intended for you to get to know. I apologize for those who have troubled you when yes you have every right to believe however you want. If you ever wanted to know more about God and his love, you will come to him on your own. As far as missionaries goes they are only bringing another option to those who don't know it exist as well as providing food and clothing to those who are in need.

Because that's what God wants us to do. By becoming Christian you take an oath to love and honor Him, and one of the ways to do this is to spread the word about Him. And by the way I do care weather you believe or not, because I would never want to see anyone, not even my worst enemy end up in hell. Yes there are a lot of good, kind hearted people out there who don't believe in God, and yes it is YOUR choice weather to except him or not. But the only way that you can get into heaven is by excepting him into to your life. I mean how can you expect someone that you don't believe in to let you into their home? By the way, I not trying to be mean by saying this, I'm only stating what is true.

They believe only Christians can get to the eternal afterlife in a better place that they believe in. Everybody else either dies (as in ceases to exist) or goes to a terrifying afterlife of eternal pain, depending on the denomination.

If you thought that was true, wouldn't you try to convince other people to become Christian? Wouldn't you think it almost criminal not to try to convince other people to become immortal like you? Wouldn't it almost be tantamount to murder to do otherwise?

God tells us to love everybody. We believe that you have to believe in Him to go to heaven. Whether hell is the cessation of existence after death, separation from God, or a lake of fire, it isn't going to be fun. So, if we love you, and we want you to go to heaven, then we will try to persuade you to believe in God. A real Christian does it for this reason only. I am not bothered by anybody disagreeing with me, but it makes me sad when nice people don't believe in God, because I worry for them.
