this is all subjective. How much mechanical skill do you have? are you looking for potential, a project perhpas, or something that's ready to go. Just being general I would say a early 90's 5.0 mustang should fit the description. You can pick up a used one for around 2 grand, you can even find ones that are built up nicely for around 5-10 grand depending on the work done. ford 5.0 v8's and chevy 350's are probably the two cheapest per performance engines out there because of their popularity and availability.

you will get speeding tickets and license suspended if speed is all what you dream and fantasize about. And if you are in Virginia, like i am the fines for speeding is now up to $3000. You have to realize that very high speed and blasting the speed limits by margins of 25 to 30 mph over, is endangering everyone's lives. Why don't you become racecar driver or use German Autobahn -- no speed limits there. But for speeds of 90 mph --- even a car like toyota corolla and nissan sentra can do that. Any car can do that. And no new car comes at $5000 to $10,000 range. The cars you are listing -- 350z -- is around $25,000 at start. You may want to go to some junkyard to get a 350z for $5K to $10K
