footing the bill for the Scots to have a better country? On average spending per head an is extra 1500 pounds in Scotland, with non means testing pensions, free prescriptions, free Uni. fees. etc..etc Surely the Labour Party, run by Scots, are fleecing the English like some crazed Australian sheep shearer and giving the wool to the Scots for nice fluffly slippers?

It strikles me as rather ironic that the Scots hate the British, and yet we pay for everything they have.

It has been statistically proven that the Scottish economy would not last long if all funding from England was withdrawn; the country would collapse.

This SNP is also against any ties with England, and yet they are happy to take our money, and spend it on Scots.

Surely my money should be spent on me, and my community, not people who ignore you when you go in the pub because you are not scottish.

Fluffy slippers? and the rest.

No, he means the bottom 98% of earners. The 250,000 dollar line, above which Obama wants to raise taxes, represents about the top 2% in terms of wages. That is, 98% of Americans make less than 250,000 a year.

On the other hand, there was an EU report which named Scotland as one of the worst places to live in the EU, and a mile behind the rest of the UK.
Yea, I do think the situation is ridiculous, but maybe they do need some of that extra money from us affluent southerners.

I agree, but I think the Uk has more to export other than Whiskey and Oil and its bi products. perhaps we could offset the oil with Subsidising the Scots. Voice of communism - thats not really a well thought answer is it?

All the time there are so many Labour MPs with Scottish seats, it's not in the interests of the present government to sttle this question.

i am scottish and i agree that it is not fair.
When they have a referendum, vote for us to go independent.
Bear in mind that england would lose the massive revenue from the north sea oil and whisky exports which are 2 of the main incomes for the UK.
What does england have to export?

you cant be giving us enough money as Scotland is one of the worse places to live in with high unemployment high rents and council tax and low wages and we do pay for our prescriptions, so instead of the English complaining to us complain to your local councillors and government bodies to make Scotland independent, even though the priminister to be is Scottish.
