get a women's catalog and look on their "order" page, Here it is directly from the book.
1) Measure under your bust and completely around your chest. Add 5 inches. That's your bra size.
2) Measure your bust at it's fullest point. Then subtract your first measurement from your second. The difference is your cup size:
A cup = 1"
B cup = 2"
C cup = 3"
D cup = 4"
DD cup = 5"
Looks like most everyone who responded to you needs to know this.

Get a seamstress paper tape measure and measure yourself. First get your band size by measuring around your chest just below your breasts. Make sure to keep the tape measure level. Write down this number. Some bra manufacturers add 4" to this number some add 5". Either way you should round up to the next even number. Then you measure again around the fullest part of your breasts. This number will determine your cup size. And again it does vary for each bra manufacturer.
Check out the web site below for more detailed information.

You can measure yourself with a tape measure. With a bra on measure just underneath your breasts tightly and take that measurement and add 5.This is the first number of your bra size, 32,34,36 etc. Next meaure around your nipple line. If this number is 1inch more than the first number you are an A cup, 2 inches B cup etc. That is how you know your bra size.

You can measure yourself at home, and then you'll have some idea what size to look for in the store.
Here's a page explaining where to measure and what those measurements mean:

Get a tape measurer and measure under your breast. I think your waist size is also the same size as your bra size- at least for me it is.

You can try on several bras to see what fits right....but honestly the getting measured thing isn't bad. And it's not as embarresing as you think. I just went the other day and got measured for a maternity bra.

it's usually best to go to the store and try one on before buying since not all bras are made the same and one size in one brand will be a different size in another...quality makes a difference...so if in doubt, just try them on until you find one that suits your size.
