I have been alone for 17 years since my wife died, and I suppose its possible to find happiness in being alone. I have not. In fact, I do not recommend staying alone, it's very difficult to say the least.

I assume you are referring to a partner. The answer is yes. What I try to get across to my single friends is that just because you might have a wonderful spouse, doesn't mean that you truly aren't alone. You are a single individual no matter what, and even in a room full of people you are alone. It is up to you to find happiness. If you can not be happy alone, in a relationship of any kind, you will not be happy. Fulfillment is not something you find in another person.

I always have. As an only child, being alone has never been a problem. While I definitely enjoy the company of friends, being alone feels pretty good too!

Yes. Disappointment cannot take root in a grateful heart. Focusing on what you have, instead of what you don't have, will help. I have lived alone for many years.

Sure can. You can always find happiness as long as you look at the glass half full.
