My motherboard can operate DDR ram. I wonder what happen if I put into my motherboard DDRII (DDR2).

It wont fit, physically.

First they won't physically fit, but if they did it would fry the module and probably your mobo too, DDR uses much higher voltage than DDR2

you can't put DDR2 on a DDR socket it's not just that you shouldn't it's that you can't it's physically different. DDR has 180 pins while the DDR2 has 240. also the voltages are different. one is 1.8v for DDR and 1.5v for DDR2.

It would be like trying to put a three prong plug into a two prong outlet. It isn't going to work.

incompatibility will occur. if you want to get higher speed memory and keep all the other hardware you have, just write down all the spec's for your hardware and get a new mobo that supports that and the new memory you want.

You can try, but as the pins are different, they wont even fit even if you try hard.
