Ok, so I watched that movie for the first time last night and had a few questions.
1. How did the scientist lady know who V was based on just the scarlet carson's? Did she know about the notes from Valerie somehow?
2. Was this based even loosely off of Ayn Rand's Anthem or George Orwell's 1984? It seemed a lot like those to me.

1. Because V grew Scarlet Carsons at the camp. This wasn't really brought out in the movie, I don't believe, but it was in the comic book.

2. The movie was based on the comic book miniseries of the same name by Alan Moore and David Lloyd, published in 1988 and '89.

I believe she did know about the notes. It's a futuristic setting, remember, so perhaps there was some sort of surveillance equipment in the cells allowing her to get a look at them. The movie was based off of the graphic novel, V for Vendetta, although I cannot remember who wrote it.

I haven't watched this movie in awhile so i'll only answer #2.

It's actually based on a graphic novel (comic book) by Alan Moore.

I think it was influenced alot by those two books though as well. I saw alot of parrallels to them myself.
