Last night was my prom night and I was wondering if there was any way to preserve my boutonniere (it's a rose to be specific). It's already beginning to wilt. Anyone have any advice?

There is a product on the market specifically for preserving flowers. You can find it at any craft store. If I remember correctly, it works in conjunction with your microwave. They will then be preserved after the treatment.
I liked to go 1 step further and take the preserved flower(S) to the a copy place, like Kinko's for example, and have them laminate each side with flower in between. They look very nice. You can use the laminated flowers for tags on presents, fan pulls and other ways I'm sure you can think of so that you can remember the event.
There is the old way-take you rose, put between wax paper and put in a heavy book, ie.encyclopedia, any type heavy book and leave there for a couple weeks. Voila, you have a nice pressed flower.
Also, you can dry them -in cool dry space low light. Cut the stems long, gather a group together with string and hang. I sed an old wooden clothes dryer.

Some people press them, some hang them upside down in a closset, I like to melt parafin wax and dip them in that. Dip, pull up, when wax has stopped dripping you may want to dip again. After you're done dipping just put them in a vase or back in their container.

Yea, you can dry it or press it. There is a powder you can get at hobby and craft stores and all you do is dip the flower in it and let it dry out. Or, you could press it in a big book and frame it later.
