The truth is both.
I think I had distinct and valuable input in my life from both of them and it made me appreciate so much more because they loved each other (and still do) and were so different in their areas of joy and passion. They found joy and respect by appreciating the balance they brought together to us as children.

I think both Mother's and Father's play an important role in the family. Some Mother's go to work and some Father's go out to work yet both provide the love, support, food, family life and the stability of a loving family whether the Parent's are together or not.

My Mother definitely. But mt Father played a pretty significant role in a round-about way: He was a horrible father, we've been estranged for nearly ten years. But my relationship with him made me look out for men who were abusive, liars and megalomaniacs. I grew up around a man like that, so I can spot them a mile away. My mother is my best friend and we've been through a lot together. She's taught me how to be a survivor.

equal important roles
dad, works and rides a bike for 7 miles to and from work, plants veges and other thing in the graden. spends time with us kids
mom,cooks clean and fix things.
Each of them show the kids love , care and teach them how to do different things.
Mom can do things dad can not do and dad can do things that mom can not do.
each of them give us example of how a family should be, how love between a man and woman should be.
Both have a equal important role.

My mother and my father together form the base of our family. So I would say it is unjust to say that one of them plays a more important part. If any one gives up their duty the family can't survive.

Both played equal roles. My mother taught me to see things for what they aren't and my father taught me to see things as they are. Two very important rules of life.
