How do you put a block on the computer to keep my bro from looking at porn?

He looks at porn on my laptop and right now I have a password on my internet to keep him from going on it but he will force me to unlock it and give him the password. If I don't give it to him willingly he'll beat it out of me.

When you think about personal Web sites you usually think of some parent who is creating a site to tell about their children. You expect to hear stories about when the child first started to walk and you expect to see some cute pictures of babies. Or, you think of a site telling all about a person's life. What they did today, what they were thinking and maybe some pictures of them and their friends.

Sometimes personal Web sites can be more adult oriented than that. The language on the site might not be something you want your children reading and the pictures on the site may be of things you don't want your kids to see. You want to protect your kids from seeing these pages, maybe you want to protect yourself from seeing these pages too.

There is some software out there that can help you protect your kids, and yourself, from viewing these pages. Before I show them to you I want to tell you about a way you can block unseemly sites without spending any money or downloading any software. There is a way to block sites right from your Internet Explorer browser. Here's how you do it:

1. Click "Tools"

2. Click "Internet Options..."

3. Click on "Content" tab

4. In the "Content Advisor" section click on "Enable..."

You are now in the Content Advisor. From here you can set your settings.

* "Ratings" tab - Set rating levels for: language, nudity, sex and violence.

* "Approved Sites" tab - Name sites that you will allow your children to always view or name sites that you neve want your children to view, regardless of the site's rating.

* "General" tab
o Allow or disallow your child to see sites that are not rated.
o Create a password - this is great for use with older children. You set a password, then if your child goes to a site they want to see, but it is a disallowed site, you can allow the site using the password. You will have the option to always allow the site or only allow it this one time.
o View or modify the rating system

Blocking Software - If you really want to use one of the many site blocking programs out there, here are a few for you to consider:

* We-Blocker - Free. Create different settings for each child.

* CyberSitter - Rated #1 by PC magazine 2003.

* KidsNet - Disallows certain types of emails from getting through. Age specific settings.

* CyberPatrol - Restrict instant messages, email and sites.

* NetNanny - Monitor and restrict or control your children's Internet viewing.

ewww. First there is no fool proof way without spending lots of money but if you just want to confound him some. Change your password for logon. Change the administrator password for logon. In Internet explorer use Tools Options Content and enable content adviser. Set a password here too. That will keep him off most porn sites and it may confound him enough to not want to use your computer. It's free and takes minimal time to setup.

you mean via internet so 1-open internet explorere then from tools choose option 2-then choose contnet 3-set your password when required 3- choose enable site advisor 4-setting addd the website you will allow to the trustpage 5- anyother site won't open without your password honestly! this is not a suitable way to do so but it works very fineand it is the strongest but if you want to protect your children without the repeatlly password screen you should use third parity programmes. We share a computer too. I am the key person, or owner, and I share it with other family members. I looked into several "blocking" programs and they all cost money after a trial period. A co-worker suggested setting up a password for each user. Only I can log them on, and by checking their history and files, cookies etc. I can see where they have been and deny them access. They have to earn computer time back by "good behavior" on-line......which includes myspace and facebook (which I also have made my own account for to check on them) and other sites. I think there may be something in Internet Explorer´s Tools - Options, a place where you can do content control or parental control. There are also a few free parental programs out there, try this link, don´t know what´s on there though. http://www.sofotex.com/download/Security/Parental_Control/

Also, when you do get one, make sure you put the settings to where blocks cannot be overridden on an individual basis. Make sure itś a password he can guess too, just in case. use something different than the windows one.

Your brother needs to be hit on the head several times with a baseball bat.
If you block off the sites that he normally visits or you try to use parental controls, he's going to know that you've done something. Then you're back to square one.
My solution is to get a strong boyfriend and have him beat the crap out of your brother every week until he learns better manners.

sounds like you have a mean brother.
There are programs to block it - but either he will get you to turn if of or figure it out - sounds like he takes threats if violence first.
You cannot do much.
If he downloads some really bad stuff go your local police . Tell the sargent you are very worried. Your brother is using your computer for illicit acivities. You are afraid of getting blamed. Is their a way they can record your notification to them of these events and activities.
That should put the fear of god ( or bigger people) into your brother - the bully.
If your brother is downloading this stuff most likely your internet is slowed to a crawl with spyware sending your horrible ads. Run these and do the updates.

The answers that have been given you I don't like them, because they fail to address the issue, "he will beat it out of me". Why are you failing to tell your parents that your brother is beating on you, to force you to allow him to look at porn.

I am sure you parents will do something about your brother.

if they don't then I would for sure talk with the police and charge your brother with assault. (I know this sounds harsh, but you can not continue to allow your younger or older brother to beat on you.
