Two months ago I took my truck in to replace my intake manifold, because it was leaking antifreeze. They gave me a 1 yr. warranty. Now I smell a syrup like the first time. could it mean that I need another intake manifold done? Is this a frequent thing with trucks?

it is a very common problem with gm products but when I fix them I usually don't have to do it again. you probably have a water pump or something else leaking

actually those intakes are notorious for leaking from the gasket. maybe the gasket is at fault or maybe another problem altogether by coincidence.

i,am guessing it turns over. sounds like it,s no longer thoroughly in time so placed huge type a million piston each of how up, turn the crank over via hand till it exhibits 0 on the timing scale then drop the distributor down in to the place the rotor is pointing to huge type a million plug twine on the cap. if it don,t wat to drop in then take a protracted screwdriver and turn the oil pump till the distributor shaft lines up with the oil pump. are you specific the plug wires are on perfect? that truck has hydralic lifter so there are no adjustment to them. all you do is placed the rocker on the low cam, each of how down and torque the rocker nut.
