Im looking at a new bike to replace my Sportster. I want something that will ride well. Which is better for me and if i have a passanger, the dyna or softail? I am 5'10 and weigh about 230lbs. My passangers range from 100lbs to 180lbs.

After riding a Sporty either will be more comfortable.
I ride FXR's ,similar in many ways to the Dyna. I like the stability of the rear end on shock bikes. I do still quite often open her up and push it and in my opinion the shock bikes are more stable in corners.
As far as comfort either is a fine choice. The key is to set yourself up with the ideal combination of bars , seat and pegs, this often involves a bit of R+D. You may not get the best combo right off the bat.
And a very, very important element that is often glossed over is the bikes suspension. Dual rate shocks (like the Works Performance Billet Tracker) are excellent for one that switches from solo ,to 2-up. Additionally fork springs , fork oil weight and even a damper rod kit can make your bike feel as though it is a part of you.
Get the bike you like best and spend the time (and $$) to find the seat x bars x pegs x suspension combo that makes your bike fit you like an old pair of Levi's , do this and you will feel as in tune with your bike as I do mine.

well im 6 foot 3 260 and i ride the softail heritage and my passengers about 150, i would not buy another softail it is ok for me sometimes but you will have a ear banging from your passenger all the time about how it it so uncomfortable for them. k just a thought. ive never owned a dyna yet buy i will as my next bike, i work at the dealership and i talk to lots of riders big and little, they dyna is by far rated higher for comfort and longevity on rides. just the rear suspension on the dyna is better than a softail anyway. youll like the dyna better im sure.

I'm 6' 210 lb, my wife is 5'7" and..ahem..."curvy". I cannot imagine anything outside of a touring bike that would be anywhere near as comfortable as my Heritage. And if you're riding two up, you can always get a different seat for your passenger(s). Plus like the other person said, windshield/bags are there and if you do what i did, you can do the quick release system. I can go from a touring/long haul bike to a bar hopper in 2 minutes. Either way you can't go wrong but from your physical descriptions I'd say you'd be much more comfortable on the softail

Better ride?
The Dyna.
Why?
The softtail has less suspension travel than a swingarm. Many people lower them, which reduces the travel even more.

heritage softail would be the best bike for u and the passenger. it will already come stock with saddle bags, windsheild and sissy bar...which u know isnt cheap if bought separately.
