vi gurl got that completely wrong
theres no such thing as the human race. we are a species.
your race is either black, white or asian.. sometimes.. or now a days indian is considered a race.. so your race is either.. black white yellow or red.
ethnicity is your back ground.. like part irish.. german.. italian.. japanese.. ect
nationality is generally the country in which you live.. or have citizenship to .. has nothing to do with your bloodline

This is how Wikipedia defines the two.
Race: The term race describes populations or groups of people as distinguished by various sets of characteristics and beliefs about common ancestry.
Ethnicity: An ethnic group or ethnicity is a population of human beings whose members identify with each other, either on the basis of a presumed common genealogy or ancestry...or recognition by others as a distinct group..., or by common cultural, linguistic, religious, or territorial traits.
However, as far as I am concerned, every single person on this planet is a member of the same race...The Human Race. To me, when someone says so-and-so is from such-and-such race, they might as well be saying they are a different species all together. Because that is exactly what it sounds like and that is how racists view it.

great question madhavi:) yOU know though these words sound synonimous but still there lies a "deep" difference !! Happiness can be found of things which may not even be beneficial to our spiritual or psychological aspect like we may go out & have our favourite dish & clothes etc., we would feel happy. But satisfaction comes from a kind of achievent, if we get good grades in studies we would get a positive feeling that says "hard word paid off" now thats more beneficial isn't it ;p[ Now peace.... I think it depends on what attitude we adopt towads the "activities" we do for "happiness" or either "satisfaction", peace actually exist in our self, it just has to be found by us. A person of ignorance might feel peace while a hard worker could be strresed. It can be even oposite to that . So peace needs to found by us.

Race is a biological concept. (eyes, lips, skin color, hair and all that other stuff).
Ethnicity refers to the cultural traits of a group (dress, language, food, customs, religion and stuff like that). It's not physical.
Italian, Jamaican, Puerto Rican and Irish are some examples of ethnicities.

There are only four races: Caucasian, *******, Mongoloid and Australoid.
Caucasian, contrary to popular belief, does not infer only people of European stock. Inhabitants of India, Pakistan, and the Middle East are also Caucasian.
Ethnicity is: German, Swedish, Dutch, French, Irish, English, Scottish, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Persian, Israeli, Japanese, Chinese etc.

Ethinicity- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ethnicity...
Race- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/race...
I didn't read all of it and I used to wonder the same thing but these links should answer your question. I think there are really only three specific races: Caucasoid, Mongoloid, and *******.
Caucasoid http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/caucasoid...
Just to let you know, being a Caucasoid doesn't mean you're white, it means you have the features of a Caucasoid. Example: Indians are considered Caucasian but they're not white. I don't agree with all the stuff this article said, but I agree with most of it.
Mongoloid-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/mongoloid...
*******-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/*******...

yes, i would agree that ethnicity is a shared culture and background (typically of the same race) and race is your blood, your dna. i would say ethnicity is flexibile and open to interpretation, whereas race is scientific.

Race is just that. a certain race, be it Chinese, Indian (american) eskimos, and so on.
Ethnicity, means country, "ethnos", is country in Greek, thats where the word comes from. Meaning, a certain race, from a certain country, like Chinese, from China, or Chinese, from
Taiwan. Same with other races, and countries they live in.
