What do Germans have to be proud of?

Well, actually Germany was pretty much the start for Europe/Scandinavia.
"Germania" as it was called back then created the vikings who set out and made home places such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark etc. Notice many Scandinavian languages are the same? Like the three countries I listed above? We understand each other's languages because they're basically the same. That's because we all came from "Germania." German is the basic root of our language, because we were all part of Germania at one point or another.
So I suppose, that's why Germany is so great. It sparked our countries.

There are good things about every culture.
They make great cars, electronics, furniture and heating equipment.
They have a tasty cuisine.
I know that when people think about Germans they think about the Holocaust and the atrocities committed but there were a lot of good people who were very afraid and were helping those that were on the run. And there are many people there today who are ashamed of their past and are totally committed to making sure that will never happen again.
When my grandmother was a prisoner of war during WWII, they were very kind to her and had to pay fines to be allowed to let her sleep in their house because the Nazi's demanded she sleep in the barn 'with the other animals.'
The farmer refused and the mailman who was a spy reported him and he had to go into town and pay a big penalty, but she still got to stay in the house!
While she was there, people who were on the run would knock on the back door and beg for food and she would wrap up a piece of sausage and bread in a rag and give it to them. If they hadn't been so good and generous to her, she wouldn't have been able to help anyone.

Well Germans are somewhat crazy and they will allow things that no other countries allow.
The have the best beer and some of the best cars also. Not to mention Germans have those well defined chiseled faces.
Ohhh wait, they also have created the smartest breed of guard dogs.
Although I might be a bit in favor of Germans because I am 99% German.

they can be proud that they overcame the nazi era and destroyed the berlin wall. They have lots to be proud of, many great people. Philoshephers, scientists, doctors, authors etc. The germans are very noble people, just like pretty much every other nationality.

ohhh i know you not hatin, are you?! well im german and like everybody else there are things about my country, that im proud of and some things that im not proud of! for example, im proud of our good health system and our good global politic, germans invented the best cars so as volkswagen and bmw, we brought up smart people like Albert Einstein, and im proud im living in a country with one of the lowest criminal rates in the whole world! i think thats something to be proud of!!! of course there are other things that im not proud of but ya`ll already know what that is...

Solid work ethic and fine craftsmanship come to mind right off of the top of my head. What does your nation of origin have to be proud of? Surely there is something that every grouping of people can be proud of. The fact that you may or may not agree means dick.

The fact that they have proved themselves to be great engineers and intellectuals, also they have a strong economy, after two devastating wars and a division. know that is something I would take pride in.
