Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder or Dunder depending on the spelling you prefer (nope, Donner isn't what Moore wrote in "A Visit from St. Nicholas" when he named the deer, that came along years later and the song Ruldpolh the Red Nosed Reindeer sadly popularized the incorrect spelling), and Blitzen.
However, if you turn to Frank Baum's "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus," Santa doesn't have eight reindeer, but ten. Their names are Glossie, Flossie, Racer, Pacer, Reckless, Speckless, Fearless, Peerless, Ready, and Steady. Note Baum's use of rhyming when naming the deer. Also, in Baum's story, when Santa first starts using reindeer he uses Glossie and Flossie. But it is Moore's classic poem, which preceeded Baum's story by more than half a century, that ended up giving us the number and names of the reindeer.
