First, if you actually have a wild fawn, it is illegal for you to keep it. You need to turn it over to Fish & Game.
The other two who answered you with what milk to feed it, are complete, and udder idiots. You will kill a fawn with cow milk, or the other crap.
Goat milk is the ONLY safe substitute, for the natural milk the doe (mother deer) would produce. You need real goat milk, strait from a goat...NOT garbage from a grocery store.
If you give the fawn cow milk, or the other stuff "reccomended" the fawn will die in by having massive diahrea.
If you have taken a wild fawn, before it had a chance to ever nurse from it's mother, it's chances of survivial are almost nil.
Turn the fawn over to Fish & Game, and they will get it to a wildlife rehab center, with people experienced in dealing with wildlife.

Oh my...I think you may have put yourself into an unnessary position. The Doe has probably hidden the Fawn so she could forage for food without the worry of the little ones safty. If the Fawn really is an orphan, the kindest thing for you to do is call your local Ministry of Natural Resourses/forestry or even the local SPCA. Deer at that young age need mothers milk and when that becomes unavailabe often professional rehabilitators will have a sourse of another suitable milk on hand. Where I come from there is a family who take in orphaned moose and deer, they have a goat who will fgeed anything...they put the goat up on a table and the moose or deer will feed the "proper" way. I don't imagin you have a goat handy? Good luck with the baby...I hope it does well.

As a zoologist, I can suggust a very good supply of nutrition for the deer. I would suggest using Hertz kitten milk formula (the powdered mix, just add water). Mix it to triple stregnth and give it using a baby bottle. If the animal will not take the bottle or you are weary of getting that close, call your state department of fish and wildlife. Remember, it may be a baby, but it will still bite if you arn't careful. I don't regularlly handle north american animals, but do know enough to tell you that the hertz will work.

Well if its too young to be weaned it needs milk as it is a mammal. However, my suggestion is that you call animal control or the humane society. If it is without its mother they can better care for it and raise it to be self sustaining that you can.

Cow's milk would be a close enough substitute, since deer are distance cousin to cows.
