1 hour 45 minutes is 1 3/4 hour or 7/4 hours

So the average speed = distance / time = 98 x 4 / 7 (please note that multiplying by the inverse of a fraction is same as dividing by the fraction)

= 56 mph

You would take the total time in minutes and divide it by the miles it took to get there. So 105 divided by 98 = 1.0714285714285714, or 10.7 MPH

Distance = rate * time

1 hour and 45 minutes = 1.75 hrs

therefore

98 = 1.75 r

r = 56 mph
