Which one is worse? Someone who is a cutter or someone who abuses drugs?

Cutting is similar in that most see it as a release. A way to cope with pain.

I would pay particular attention to someone that is cutting. Just like drugs and alcohol, you need more and more to get the desired result. With cutting, a person is going to have to do more and more dangerous and invasive mutilation to get the endorphines and release out of it.

All are bad addictions, but cutting is a massochistic tendancy that will likely end in suicide if not dealt with.

I don't think one is worse than the other. Both drug/alcohol abuse and cutting are addictions that people need help to get over. Its not easier to get over one or the other, and they are equally as damaging. They can both kill you.

Drugs. Most cutters only create superficial damage that is not life threatening or damaging to their system. It is more an attention seeking behaviour.

Drugs on the other hand can lead to all sorts of 'break downs' of internal systems including drug induced psychosis.
