What client are you using i have used all the top named ones and i have found Azureus best.
To make downloads go faster.
1. Choose downloads with more seeders than downloaders if possible.
2. If possible only download one file at a time.
3. Download the Lvlord patch. Windows sets outgoing connections when download to 5, (which slows down speed) the patch will allow you to set it at 10. Get it here: http://www.lvllord.de/
4. Do not set your upload and download speeds to max or unlimited, set download to 375k/bs and upload to 25kb/s.
5. Do most of your downloading at night and leave it overnight (this is when most people will seed as they are not at their pc to stop seeding)

make sure to download the files with the most seeds. it is likely you are downloading a file from 1 seed, which is really slow

Close any and all other programs you have running, and switch to a cable company, and if you do go for the higher mps rate
